History
1852 First production of mill board on a hand mill
board machine by the founding family
1896 Start up of the first paperboard machine (BM 1)
machine width 160 cm - capacity 1000 tons per year
1928 Start up of second paperboard machine (BM 2)
machine with 260 cm - capacity 3000 tons per year
1950-1976
Hardly any investments during that period buildings
and equipment completely go to rack and ruin
1976 Knoblauch's bankruptcy cannot be avoided
1977 Founding of Karton + Papier AG
Managing Director is Kurt Berner
1986 Kurt Berner acquires 51 % of the share capital
1991 Kurt Berner acquires the remaining share capital
1993 Death of Kurt Berner. His widow Heidi Berner,
his son Dominik and his son in law ensure
continued operation
1986-1996
BM 2 and the buildings are modernised in small
and economically justifiable steps
1997 Decision of the management to convert the board mill
into a service-centre for board mills within 5 to 10 years
